Founder, Balance Foundation

1957 to 2025

Freddy was a professor, athlete, financial expert, mentor, and above all, a compassionate human being who deeply believed in the transformative power of education. His life was a testament to the conviction that the transfer of knowledge is the key to building a better humanity, a philosophy that became the foundation of his final and most personal mission: the creation of the Balance Foundation.

Born in Cochabamba, Bolivia, Freddy pursued excellence from a young age. He became a licensed Financial Auditor, earning degrees from the Universidad Mayor de San Simón and the Universidad Mayor de San Andrés. Freddy stayed in academia not only as a scholar but as a devoted teacher and mentor, shaping minds and inspiring futures for over 30 years.

At UMSS, Freddy became a pillar of the academic community, teaching Cost Accounting and Financial Auditing. Known for his clarity, rigor, and warmth, he had a rare ability to simplify complex concepts while challenging students to think and excel. Many of his students recall his classes as transformative, not just for their academic careers, but for their personal growth. His commitment to education earned him numerous accolades, including the Diploma and Medallion of Merit for 25 years of university service.

Freddy’s influence reached far beyond the classroom. As founder of AADEC Consultores S.R.L., he led numerous organizations, both corporate and nonprofit, through administrative restructuring, financial recovery, and sustainable growth.

But Freddy was much more than a professor. He was a strategist, an advisor, and a compassionate leader. As founder of AADEC Consultores S.R.L., he led countless companies and organizations through administrative restructuring, financial recovery, and strategic planning. His deep commitment to integrity, transparency, and empathy made him a trusted figure in both the corporate and nonprofit sectors. His strategic thinking, financial acumen, and unwavering ethics made him a sought-after advisor in Bolivia and abroad.

Freddy’s expertise was wide reaching, from managing multi sector audits to guiding small businesses in formalization and growth. His ability to design custom strategies, foster long term sustainability, and lead teams through complex transitions set him apart. Throughout his life, he mentored young professionals, always believing that investing in people was the most important path to progress.

What truly distinguished Freddy, however, was his heart. Over his four decade career, he offered his services ad honorem to countless non profits, mentoring leaders, building sustainable models, and improving operational efficiency. He believed deeply in helping in any way or capacity. Helping is what drove his professional and personal life, and helping those who help was essential for him.

He also played a crucial role in the lives of many aspiring professionals. Through mentorship, encouragement, and his extensive network in the accounting and finance community, Freddy helped launch the careers of hundreds of interns, thousands of students, and numerous employees, many of whom went on to become respected professionals, educators, and changemakers.

Freddy lived his values. His idea of balance was not just professional, it was holistic. He was a black belt in karate, a dedicated swimmer, a horseback rider passionate about show jumping, and an avid golfer. He believed that true success was found in harmony of body, mind, and spirit and lived that belief fully, inspiring others to do the same.

Despite his many achievements, Freddy remained humble. He did not seek titles or applause, he sought impact. He wanted to see people thrive. He led with empathy, practiced gratitude, and embodied quiet strength.

The Balance Foundation is the living extension of his vision: a place where education is for everyone, where knowledge is shared generously, and where one empowered individual can uplift an entire community. Through every workshop held, every student guided, and every dream supported, his legacy lives on.

Rene Freddy Zenteno Carrillo leaves behind not only a lifetime of knowledge but a powerful example of humility, purpose, and service. His presence will be deeply missed, but his vision will continue to inspire, educate, and transform for generations to come.
